Visiting Valcour with Ernest and Tim
Heading out from Indian Bay Marina, on my way to Valcour Island. On the right is Schuyler Island and on the left is Trembleu Point
On the way to the slot between Schuyler and the mainland I spotted a spec out on the lake and took this picture. turned out to be a very brave guy all alone out in the middle of the lake. Wind and waves were picking up and he had miles to go to find safety. That's Burlington in the background. It looks close but it's about 3 or 4 miles beyond him
I took this picture just as I was was entering the slot. That's the southern tip of Schuyler Island on the left and Burlington in the background.
Beating into a northerly wind and rising waves, I finally made it to Smugglers Harbor on Valcour Island. I dropped anchor next to a very nice British couple on a Mirage 25. Seems they liked to vacation by flying over and spending a month or so cruising around Lake Champlain.
Ernest and Tim had already set up camp.
Bailey was put in charge of camp security and processing any unwanted food stuffs.
Day 2 started out with coffee and a swim.
Ernest and Tim coming back from fishing. That look on Ernests face is him whistling to Bailey.
I headed home at the crack of dawn the next morning. The picture below is the Crack of Dawn over the Green Mountains of Vermont
